Vice President (Strategic Initiatives) (Ref: 24000AY) 


The Position

The University is looking for a person of high caliber to oversee and lead a broad range of strategic initiatives and projects of the University, and implement the University’s strategic plan.

The appointee will report to the President for providing effective broad visionary leadership to the University in its strategic initiatives and projects.  This is a key management position in developing, planning and implementing of key strategic initiatives.  He/she will serve as liaison between the President and various University stakeholders to ensure effective planning and implementation of key initiatives with a view to advancing the University’s vision, mission and objectives.  It is anticipated that he/she will oversee the operation of HKMU Consultants (Shenzhen) Limited and look after three Offices, including Mainland and International Affairs Office, Office of Planning & Analysis and Office of New Initiatives, and undertake major projects as required by the University.



Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognized higher degree, preferably with a PhD degree;
  • Substantial relevant leadership and management experience at a senior level in the higher education sector;
  • Proven experience and solid knowledge of the latest trend and university development in Hong Kong and the Mainland would be a definite advantage;
  • Dynamic leadership, broad vision, strategic foresight, high integrity and sound judgment;
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, collaboration and project management skills; and
  • High level of language proficiency both in English and Chinese including Putonghua.


Remuneration Package

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, a composite cash/housing allowance, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates. Generous annual leave, staff-development sponsorships, medical and dental benefits, and life insurance coverage will also be provided.
