The School of Engineering at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College invites applications from qualified individuals for a tenure-track faculty position at an Associate or Full Professor rank in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Areas of particular interest are in areas of Computer Engineering research, including, computer systems and architecture, wireless networks and data communication, big data science and engineering, mobile computing, cyber physical systems (CPS), computer vision, and machine learning. The candidate may be asked to teach a wide variety of computer engineering courses, such as but not limited to, computer architecture, microprocessors, embedded systems, wireless networks, and operating systems. Required courses may be offered both residentially and/or online. Previous online teaching experience is not required. The successful candidate will have a commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate engineering courses and the ability to develop a sustainable research program. The successful candidate will be open to leadership positions within the department and mentorship of faculty and advising of students. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates with previous academic and/or industrial experience are encouraged to apply.
