Tenure-track Associate Professor Faculty position in Sustainable Urban Waterways and Waterbodies

NTU's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) aspires to be a leading school for Sustainable Urban Systems. Currently, it has over 60 faculty members and more than 1,500 students, and is rapidly expanding its range of educational and research activities. Its faculty has led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in space creation, water research and sustainable built environment. Going forward, CEE is addressing critical issues in urban solutions and sustainability, such as building and energy systems, sustainability of urban cities, energy-water-land nexus and resiliency to natural and unnatural risks.

To fuel further development, we invite applications for tenure-track Associate Professor Faculty position in the area of Sustainable Urban Waterways and Waterbodies (SUWW).

The candidates should have an earned PhD degree in Sustainable Urban Waterways and Waterbodies Management or in a related area with an outstanding academic record and a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching.  Leadership in conducting inter-disciplinary research and collaboration with industry is also essential.

The specific areas of interests include:
(i) field monitoring and analysis of flow and water quality, 
(ii) dynamic rainfall - runoff and quality modelling for urbanized catchments, 
(iii) reservoir hydrodynamic and water quality modelling, 
(iv) fluvial hydraulics and sediment transport, 
(v) coastal hydraulics and management, and 
(vi) impact of long-term climatic changes and adaptation planning.

The candidate should be able to provide academic leadership through demonstrating and fostering excellence in R&D, teaching and professional activity within the School and academic discipline. The ideal candidate should be an internationally recognized expert in the field of Sustainable Urban Waterways and Waterbodies, while should also help the School to develop interdisciplinary research programs as well as contribute to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
