The Machine Learning Cloud at the University of Tübingen provides the computing power for research in the field of artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning. This position will allow the candidate to gain knowledge and experience in the field of high-performance computing systems, tools and services, which is a rapidly developing area facilitating digital innovation in many industrial sectors, science and public administration. The Cloud Team is looking for a motivated 

Student Assistant (m/f/d, approx. 40h/month)
for Machine Learning Cluster/System Administration

for a duration of 9 months with the possibility of extension. 

Responsibilities

• Help the ML Cloud team in the system administration of the ML Cloud, including configure, install, manage, and update the HPC infrastructure.
• Benchmarking of computing, storage and network technologies of HPC systems.
• Monitoring of HPC infrastructure and functionality of provided services.

Qualifications 

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related subject
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Linux operating system (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu, …).
• Knowledge of network infrastructure and experience with configuration, maintenance and monitoring.
• Knowledge of scripting / programming in Python, Bash, Perl.
• Ability to work well in teams
