Chalmers University of Technology

Senior Lecturer in Production Systems

We want to change the future of Industrial Production, would you like to help us?

Chalmers University of Technology offers a faculty position as Senior Lecturer in the area Production Systems, with focus on Industrial Digitalisation.

Industries, universities, and governments across the world are working hard to bring real benefits of the 4th industrial revolution to industry and society. Chalmers is one of the leading universities in industrial digitalisation for sustainable and competitive manufacturing. We are now searching for a highly skilled, motivated, and dynamic person to take up a faculty position as Senior Lecturer within the Division of Production Systems at the Department of Industrial and Materials Science.

The Production Systems Division
Chalmers' Division of Production Systems is a young and rapidly growing team of more than 30 cross-disciplinary researchers, teachers, PhD candidates, and support staff. The Division has a good gender balance and a high diversity. Our three research groups work on research, education, and innovation; both nationally and internationally. We collaborate closely with industry in design, deployment, operation, and maintenance of future industrial production systems. Our advanced research facilities and new labs for industrial digitalisation enable deep involvement in national and European projects. As an example, our Stena Industry Innovation Laboratory is co-located with one of the five local centres of the new European EIT Manufacturing initiative.

The Division of Production Systems is part of the Department of Industrial and Materials Science. The expertise of IMS ranges from early industrial design phases to development and operation of production. The department develops the industrial value chain – from customer need to finished product. We gather internationally renowned researchers, in dynamic and outstanding research environments, as well as in national and international research networks. More information about IMS can be found on the department webpage.

The three research groups work in the domain of Industrial Production Systems. Some typical areas for research and education are: VR and Augmented reality for production design; Digital sustainability assessment; Human collaboration with automation and robots; The future of work in industry; Maintenance, machine learning and AI; and Connectivity for people and machines using 5G. We also analyse internal and external value chains, in order to enhance productivity, sustainability, and reliability. You can find additional information on our our division webpage.
