The Department of Computer Science (CS) at Cornell University invites applications for multiple faculty positions at its Ithaca campus. Faculty will engage in teaching, research, and supervision of graduate students, contributing to the department’s mission of excellence in computer science education and research.
We welcome applicants from all areas of computer science and closely related disciplines. While this is a broad search, particular emphasis will be placed on candidates with expertise in:
Systems
Artificial Intelligence, especially:
Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Large Language Models (LLMs)
AI for Science
Applied Programming Languages
Formal Methods

Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related field
Demonstrated ability to conduct outstanding research
Expected to maintain an active research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and supervise graduate students
