What are you doing?

On the one hand, you are part of the teaching team within the study program for 50% of your assignment and you teach in the first and second year. In the first year you are responsible for the course 'Media Production 3D development 1' together with 1 colleague and for programming 1 together with 2 other colleagues. In the second year you are solely responsible for 'Principles of Game Design'.

You give and develop challenging, inspiring and future-oriented education. You assess students, supervise and coach them in their learning process and possibly also during projects, internships and bachelor's theses. You think along about new (subject) content, work forms, learning lines, ...

On the other hand, for 45% of your assignment you are part of a small research team within the study program and you participate in research and service projects. You contribute to the strong incorporation of research into educational practice within NxT Media Technology.

You work independently and in close consultation with your fellow teachers and researchers. You consult with teachers from the study about how there can be a good interaction between research and education.

You like to put your shoulders under the training by taking part in training councils, open days, registering, etc.

You work on your own professionalization both with regard to research methodology and didactic skills and you actively contribute to knowledge development and sharing within the organization.

You report to the program director. For the research part, the functional management takes place via the research coordinator.

Who are you?

  • You are a driven researcher who can independently plan and execute his work within the established project planning.
  • You are strong in developen in C #, more specifically for the game engine Unity. Knowledge of multiplayer, editor scripting or AR / VR is certainly a plus.
  • You have a strong interest in education and are willing to 'lifelong' refine your professional knowledge and work on your research and didactic skills and insights.
  • You work with enthusiasm and like to roll up your sleeves.
  • You encourage collaboration.
  • You communicate smoothly, clearly and transparently, both orally and in writing.
  • You can provide open and targeted feedback when supervising students.
  • You think in terms of solutions instead of problems. You do not shy away from challenges. You work driven by results.
  • You are prepared to represent NxT at congresses or conferences at home and abroad.
  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in content-relevant education.

What do we offer you?

  • An interesting 95% assignment - as a contractual employee - that starts on 1 September 2019 and runs until 31 August 2020. The start date may also be later, depending on your availability and internal shifts. The assignment may be renewable.
