Research Fellow in the Research Programme on Potential Health Benefits of Plant Secondary Metabolites

The Opportunity:

We have an excellent opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic post-doctoral research fellow with experience in one or more of analytical biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, and human dietary intervention studies to join a research group at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland. 

The successful candidate will be involved in research on the chemistry and biological activity plant secondary metabolites that have potential health benefits. The research will involve the characterisation of plant secondary metabolites, the bioavailability and metabolism of selected metabolites following ingestion, including their bioconversion by the human gut microbiota, and elucidating biological activity through the use of model system and short and medium term human intervention studies.
