Resistive switching memory (RRAM) has gained increasing popularity for its use as the potential next generation data storage technology not just for hard disk storage but also for synaptic weight storage in hardware implementation of neural networks (neuromorphic systems). Its use in neuromorphics requires that it be operated at extremely low power (fJ/bit) and this requires in-depth multiscale modeling and simulation of the RRAM metal-insulator-metal (MIM) stack so as to understand the switching mechanism and enable realization of ultra-low power RRAM through simulation assisted redesign of the material stack.

We intend to recruit a post-doctoral fellow with expertise in modeling and simulation of nanoelectronic devices such as FinFETs or RRAM. The candidate should have a good background in finite element modeling (FEM), Monte Carlo simulations, multiphysics simulations, analytical modeling as well as sufficient knowledge in application of machine learning / AI methods and algorithms. The candidate should be from a materials science / physics / electronics background and must have obtained PhD from a reputed institution and should have a strong publication track record as well. Competitive pay package will be provided depending on the skill sets of the applicant. The position is initially open for one year and can be extended further for two more years, subject to satisfactory performance.
