Research Fellow in Epitaxial Growth

The ACTAlab (www.actalab.com/) at SUTD seeks applicants for a full-time postdoctoral position in epitaxial growth. The successful candidate will use Van der Waals Epitaxy to grow chalcogenide superlattices. He or she will also study the properties of the superlattices using structural, electronic, and photonic techniques. In particular, the aim will be to understand, design, and optimise chalcogenide superlattices for novel thermoelectric applications. The position involves collaborating work with theories who are also studying these same material.

The ideal candidate will have:

• a PhD in Physics, Material Science, or a related field.
• knowledge and experience of MBE or PLD crystal growth
• a thorough understanding of condensed matter science.
• high level of motivation.

• a good level of written and verbal English communication.
• a proven publication record.
• he/she should also be willing to work in collaboration with theorists.
