The Opportunity
You will explore and develop novel algorithms that can be implemented in real-time on swarm members, predict over a long horizon, and make optimal decisions under global performance metrics with limited local knowledge of the swarm. This research will involve a combination of control techniques and networked dynamics theory to optimally respond to rapidly changing conditions and varying degrees of uncertainty. Implementation of these research efforts on the university’s quadrotor swarm platform will be key to supporting our industry partner and demonstrating practically-relevant solutions to achieve real world impact. 

About you
Having completed a PhD in Engineering or Applied Mathematics, you will have substantial experience with the implementation of numerical methods and engineering applications of real-time control of dynamical systems with exposure to mathematical foundations of learning, graph theory, and optimisation.
