About This Opportunity

As the Postdoctoral Research Fellow you will research the development of advanced functional materials for various applications including catalyst, environment, bioengineering, and energy storages in Australia. This position will play a key part in a project focused on Synthesis and development of nanoarchitectured functional materials by polymeric template applying to the electrochemistry and materials science.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will hold a PhD in the area of Chemical Engineering and have experience in both academic and industry environments including expert knowledge in the area of functional polymer synthesis and their applications of energy harvesting and storage. The ability to establish relationships and to represent and promote academic discipline at a university and wider community level is essential.  You will have a strong track record of research ability and demonstrated contribution to research, including successful external grant applications. You will have a strong chemistry background including highly developed synthesis skills and experience with material analysis including electrochemistry. Experience with functional polymer materials with their applications of energy harvesting and storage would be desirable.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term (two year) position at Academic level A.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $69,342 - $92,782 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $81,131 - $108,555.
