From travel to fitness, there's something for everyoneAbout UsThe School of Science undertakes high-quality teaching and research across the natural and physical sciences, mathematics, biological sciences and computer science and technology disciplines. The School of Science attracts esteemed experts and researchers from around the world and has strong partnerships with industry and international collaborators. The School of Science houses state-of-the-art equipment for materials analysis including HTREM, SEM, and XPS within the RMIT Microscopy and Microanalysis Facility as well as a suite of spectroscopic techniques within the RMIT Vibrational Spectroscopy Facility.https://www.rmit.edu.au/about/our-education/academic-schools/scienceThe Surfaces, Materials, and Catalysis Group (SMAC) is a world leader in the rational design of advanced functional materials. Our primary focus is the design, development and application of catalytic clean technologies for sustainable energy and chemicals production, in addition to the creation of nanocomposites for biomaterials and antibacterial treatments, and electronic thin film devices. New physical insight into structure-function relations is obtained through advanced spectroscopic and microscopic analysis of nanomaterials. The new SMAC Group laboratories at RMIT will be equipped with cutting-edge instrumentation for nanomaterials synthesis, characterisation (including ALD, DRIFTS, DRUVS, and ATR-IR, chemisorption and porosimetry, and tube furnaces and muffle furnaces) and catalytic testing using a suite of high pressure autoclaves, and continuous flow gas and liquid phase microreactors (with both on-line and off-line GC, HPLC, GC-MS, and FTIR analysis).Bring your whole self to work:We are better for our diversity. When we listen to those who are different to us, or challenge us, we grow stronger together. When we feel like we belong, we can achieve so much more. We respect each other, embrace our differences and build a sense of belonging in our team and beyond. We’re proud to share with you some of our wins:
