HMOE is a new research group withing the cluster Molecules and Materials in the Faculty of Science & Technology (Technische Natuurwetenschappen, TNW). The main areas of research are centred around the development of molecular-scale devices for various applications in nano-electronics and optics. We are currently setting up our laboratories with new optical and electronic measurement systems and basic fabrication fascilities.

The Challenge

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic lab manager with relevant experience to support day-to-day operations, including project support in collaboration with (graduate) students, postdocs, and permanent staff. The main tasks include:

  • Practical hands-on assistance: support researchers in daily experimental work and reporting;
  • Manager HMOE lab: keeping lab operational (availability of equipment/materials, operation/maintenance of equipment,)
  • Practical experience with opto-electronic equipment, repair, and operation

Your profile

  • Relevant technical BSc education
  • Understanding of various laboratory equipment, mainly electrical equipment
  • Well-organized, precise, and reliable
  • Highly motivated, proactive, accurate, and committed team player
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and affinity with computers in general
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English (C1)

You will be offered a full-time employment contract for one year with the intention of a permanent position, which will be evaluated after one year. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Universities (CAO) and include:

  • A starting salary from € 2.920 to € 4.012,- gross per month (salary scale 9 of the CAO), based on relevant work experience;
  • A holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;
  • A minimum of 29 leave days in case of full-time employment;
  • Professional and personal development programs;
  • A solid pension scheme.
