Our Profile

The Institute of Urban Construction and Urban Transport works on a wide range of research and development projects in the fields of mobility behavior, traffic and land use modeling, integrated settlement and traffic development, traffic and mobility management, traffic planning and traffic engineering. The department is responsible for the education of students of civil engineering, applied geography, economic geography, industrial engineering construction, environmental engineering and the study program Mobility and Transport in the areas of transport and urban and spatial planning. 
The main focus of research in the area of traffic is on cross-scale traffic modeling as well as model-based location planning - including charging infrastructure for electromobility.

Your Profile

- completed postgraduate academic studies (masters or equivalent) in civil engineering, specialization in traffic and spatial planning or related fields 
- comprehensive knowledge in the fields of innovative mobility concepts, road design and traffic planning 

We expect 
- knowledge and practical experience in the application of procedures 
for modeling the Traffic flow (demand / flow simulation) 
- practical experience in the evaluation of traffic and mobility data using statistical methods 
- very good skills in the use of MS Office, especially MS Excel
- Ability to formulate accurately, objectively and comprehensibly (oral and written), knowledge of German C2 
- Planning and organizational ability , initiative, creativity and flexibility in dealing with complex tasks 
- Strong communication skills and willingness to interdisciplinary cooperation 
- Willingness to own scientific qualification 
- Good English Language skills in spoken and written

Your Tasks

The tasks are predominantly in cooperation in the project area of integrated transport planning. The interrelations and interactions of traffic, economy, society and the environment are examined. On this basis, cross-traffic traffic analyzes and action-sensitive models are created. The main focus is on transport models and data analysis.

Recruitment is in the employment relationship. 
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and initially limited to 1 year. It is planned to continue working for a minimum of 2 years, with an extension to 5 years. 
This is a full-time job. 
There is a doctoral option. 
The position is rated with EG 13 TV-L.
