Job summary

Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in the EEE Department, Imperial College London. The research is conducted as part of a project on Signal Processing for Integrated Wireless Communications and Sensing and potential applications in 6G cellular communication systems, in collaboration with industry.

The project deals with the study on radio access technologies and signal processing algorithms for wireless communication and sensing integration.

You should hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in Signal Processing for Wireless Communications and/or Wireless Sensing and have a significant publication track record.

In addition you should demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in several areas among wireless communication theory, signal processing, communication and/or radar waveform design, multi-antenna signal processing, sensing and radar, machine learning, interference management and optimization. Good written and oral communication skills in English are essential

Duties and responsibilities

The duties involve carrying out research programmes in the area of “Integrated Wireless Communications and Sensing”, undertaking project management, collaborating with academic and industry partners and/or supervising multi-disciplinary teams.

In addition, you will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals and to attract external research funding.

Essential requirements

Essential requierement include:

  • Practical experience within a research environment and / or publication in relevant and refereed journals
  • Experience of dealing with specific groups of people, e.g. industry, academia
  • Knowledge and practical experience in several areas among wireless communication theory, signal processing, communication and/or radar waveform design, multi-antenna signal processing, sensing and radar, machine learning, interference management and optimization
  • Strong publication track record in top-tier international journals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Further information

*Candidates who have not yet been awarded their PhD will initially be appointed at the Research Assistant level within the salary range £35,477 - £38,566 per annum.
