Position Summary

The MSU School of Packaging is looking for a research associate to work  in the Laboratory for Soft Machines & Electronics.  Candidates will  work on topics to include: Smart materials and structures, Soft robotics, Artificial skins, Energy harvesters, Wearable Electronics and Machine Learning.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Material

Minimum Requirements

Candidates with a strong background in soft robotics, finite element analysis, 3D/4D printing of functional materials, deformable/wearable electronics, triboelectric nanogenerators, and machine learning are encouraged to apply. Candidates should demonstrate a good record of publication, experience of proposal development, and ability to guide postgraduates and undergraduates in research programs.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in design, modeling, manufacturing and rapid prototyping of soft robotics is highly desirable.  Skills using ABAQUS, COMSOL and SolidWorks is a plus, but not required.
