Research Associate in Bacterial Synthetic Biology (Kehoe lab)

Position Summary

A full-time Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Professor David M. Kehoe in the Department of Biology at Indiana University Bloomington. The successful candidate will investigate, design, and build light-color controlled transcription pathways in photoautotrophic and heterotrophic bacteria for use in biotechnology and medicine using a marine phytoplankton system studied in the Kehoe laboratory (see Shukla et al, 2012, PNAS 109: 20136-20141; Sanfilippo et al, 2016, PNAS 113: 6077–6082; Grebert et al, 2018, PNAS 115: E2010-E2019; Kronfel et al, 2019, J Biol Chem 294: 3987-3999; Sanfilippo et al, 2019, PNAS 116: 6457-6462). Basic Qualifications

This position requires either a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Biology or a related field and previous research experience in both protein biochemistry and molecular biology.

This position requires a positive attitude and solid work ethic, as well as good communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a laboratory setting.
