SnT is carrying out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services, often in collaboration with industrial, governmental or international partners. Your Role

The successful candidate will join a strong and motivated research team lead by Prof. Björn Ottersten and Dr. Symeon Chatzinotas in order to carry out research in the area of physical layer security in 5G networks and particularly contribute to its European and National projects (Project CI-PHY).  

The position holder will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Shaping research directions and producing results in the area of Physical Layer Security in 5G Networks
  • Attracting funding in cooperation with industrial partners
  • Coordinating research projects and delivering outputs
  • Disseminating results through high impact journals and conference publications
  • Providing guidance to PhD and MSc students
  • Organizing relevant workshops and summer schools

Your Profile

The candidate should possess a PhD degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or Applied Mathematics.

The ideal candidate should have extensive project-based experience (particularly ESA, Industry, and H2020) and publication record in a number of the following topics:

  • Physical Layer Security in 5G Networks
  • Transceiver Design for Wireless Communications
  • Multiuser / Multi-antenna Signal Processing
  • Dynamic Spectrum Sharing
  • Resource Allocation

Development skills in MATLAB or C++ are required.  Exposure to the latest standards in communications as well as theory and methods of optimization are desirable.

Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
