To strengthen our team, we are looking for a scientific assistant (m / f / d) in the area of digitization and AI in battery production at the Garching location near Munich.

About Us
The Institute of Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) of the Technical University of Munich is one of the major production engineering institutes in Germany. The main topics include the areas of production and logistics, machine tools, assembly technology and robotics, manufacturing technology, joining and separating technology, and battery production. In these topics, the scientific staff of iwb work in research, teaching and industrial transfer with the aim of promotion. 


  • Above-average degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, information technology, chemical engineering and mathematics as well as comp. disciplines
  • General interest in production engineering issues and their investigation
  • Enjoyment of the support and programming of technical systems is required
  • Determination and independent work
  • Creativity and experimentation
  • Team and communication skills


  • Independent processing of research projects for digitization and data management in the production of lithium-ion cells, in particular using artificial intelligence
  • Cooperation in the preparation of research applications
  • Independent processing of industrial projects
  • Guidance and supervision of students in the preparation of study projects
  • Supervision of courses in the field of production technology

We Offer
