We research and develop product and production innovations that enable the production of electrified mobility solutions and their individual components in a cost-effective and sustainable manner, and make PEM a research institution that attracts, excites and excellently trains outstanding new blood. 

Together with our partners we develop solutions for the mobility of the future from the first idea to the industrial application. 
Our motto "PEM - Science for e-mobility production" unites ten research groups in four areas. In it, the production processes of the electric vehicle and its components are continuously developed.

At our institute, we offer a flat hierarchy that leaves room for your own ideas and processes. Regular joint recreational activities and team events such as laser tagging, sailing trips or summer festivals offer the opportunity to get to know colleagues privately as well. RWTH's broad sports program is used by many of our colleagues to keep themselves fit while working. You will receive both a service laptop and a service cell phone to make your daily work easier and more flexible.

Your Profile

- Technically-oriented university degree (Master or equivalent) completed with above-average success: mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, automation technology, industrial engineering, etc. 
- specialization in production, vehicle, automation or construction engineering or similar desired 
- interest in novel assembly concepts and solutions 
- high degree of independence, commitment, initiative and resilience 
- very good analytical and conceptual skills and a structured way of working 
- pronounced team orientation and communication skills 
- secure command of German and English 
- interest in electromobility / electric vehicle production

Your Tasks

With us you will become part of a highly motivated team and work together with our industrial partners on innovative concepts and their technical implementation for assembly, especially in electric mobility. 

Their tasks include project planning, conceptual design and engineering as well as implementation of innovative manufacturing and assembly concepts. You will be in constant communication with our research and industry partners. 

Your tasks and activities include: 
- Development of ideas and solutions for the future production of electric vehicles 
- Conception and realization of innovative process chains and assembly concepts
- Development of alternative assembly concepts as well as engineering, construction and testing of prototypes and pre-series for electromobility 
- Participation in innovative developments in the framework of research and industry projects 
- Acquisition of university further education and teaching activities 
- Communication with customers, partners and suppliers

Our Range

Recruitment is in the employment relationship. 
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and initially limited to 2 years. A further employment of at least one year is planned. 
This is a full time position. 
There is a doctoral option. 
The position is rated with EG 13 TV-L.
