About the Role
The Research Assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy. It is expected that you will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
Research Experience and Technical Expertise: Proven ability to conduct high-quality applied research in the field of industrial automation, with an extensive practical implementation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensor technology, actuator interfaces, and other relevant Industry 4.0 technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and cyber-physical systems.
Project Management: Proven experience in managing projects from conception to completion, including the ability to manage logistics, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management.
Industry Collaboration: Demonstrated experience in working closely with industry partners to develop effective, impactful solutions that address real-world challenges.
Publication Record: Evident of academic publications in a relevant research field or industrial experience, specifically PLC programming and sensor and actuator interfacing.
