1. Open Positions: Two Professors and Two Associate Professors

4. Research Area: Semiconductors are key devices that support the core of all digital systems, and the
development of integrated circuit technology is an important national issue. Under these circumstances,
there is a demand for researchers and engineers who have new perspectives and drive social change (value
creation) using semiconductors. We seek faculty candidates who, having one or more of the specialties
described below, lead the social change (value creation) using semiconductors and educate students who
will support the future of semiconductor technology. In addition to research and development, we also
welcome those who are familiar with semiconductor marketing and product management, and can provide
education based on industrial experiences.

5. Specialty: Integrated circuit design, semiconductor device design, semiconductor process, packaging,
semiconductor material development, semiconductor applications such as IoT, international
standardization activities, marketing or product management, etc. in semiconductor-related fields.

6. Job Description:

・ The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in the Department of Electronics for the
topics presented in the item 5.
・ He/she will join in the Education Center for Value Creation in Semiconductors (tentative name) to be
established shortly, where he/she will give education to students in the Department of Electrical
Engineering and Computer Science, School of Engineering, Graduate School of Information Science
and Electrical Engineering, and related schools and graduate schools in Kyushu University.

7. Position Type: Regular full-time (not fixed-term contract), Trial employment period (Three months)
We are planning to grant research funds (Start-up support). (Amount: 1st year: JPY 2,000,000. 2nd year:
JPY 1,000,000)

8. Working Hours, Break Time, and Overtime Work: 7 hours and 45 minutes per day based on discretionary
labor system for professional work.

9. Holidays: Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, and from December 29 to January 3.

10. Salary: Annual salary system will be applied. Base annual salary is determined based on professional
experience, job responsibilities and other relevant factors along with the University's related
regulations.

11. Insurances: Employment insurance, Industrial injury insurance, Health insurance, and Employee pension.

12. Qualifications: The candidate should

(i) have a PhD or equivalent.
(ⅱ) be enthusiastic in teaching and research.
(ⅲ) be able to teach, supervise, and give lectures in English.

13. Start Date: At the earliest opportunity.

talks, patents, etc. (showing h-index, impact factor, and times cited if any). As for papers,
proceedings, and patents, please show all the authors' names listed in the order as printed in the
article.
(iii) Reprints of five representative papers.
(iv) A summary of the candidate's current/past research and a research vision statement (around 1000
words plus figures).
(v) Teaching Statement (around 1000 words plus figures).
(vi) The candidate who belongsto a university must include a track record ofsecuring research funding.
Please include the name of the funding, the title of the project, the information if you are the
principal investigator or co-investigator, your affiliation, and the amount of the funding. The
candidate who belongs to an industry must include the details of the research projects involved.
(vii) The names, affiliations, and contact details of two references.

18. Interview: Selected applicants will be asked to have an on-campus or online interview. The University
does not cover travel expense for the interview.
