The Faculty of Science and Technology offers nine Honors Degree Programmes: Applied Mathematics, Applied Psychology, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Technology, Data Science, Environmental Science, Financial Mathematics, Food Science and Technology, and Statistics. We also offer a taught master programme titled Master of Arts in Communication-Artificial Intelligence & Digital Media Concentration (AIDM). We provide comprehensive professional training for students, while attaching great importance to their all-around development through social consciousness and self-cultivation.

Job Description

Successful candidates will show commitment to a high standard of teaching at all levels in the following areas: analysis, dynamical systems, partial differential equations, financial mathematics, quantitative finance, financial risk management, Linear Algebra, Calculus, Statistics and Probability, Regression Analysis, Multivariate Analysis, Categorical Data Analysis, optimization, Time Series Analysis, Survival Analysis, Actuarial mathematics, Data Mining and Bayesian Statistics are welcome. Candidates are also expected to teach post graduate student courses including but not limited to Convex Optimization, Probability Theory, Generalized Linear Model or similar areas depending on the evolving needs of the department.


Job Requirement

Candidates should have a PhD degree in mathematics, statistics or a closely aligned discipline and ideally few years of teaching/research experience at a university or equivalent after completion of PhD degree. Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate levels in English. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable ability to undertake independent research leading to outcomes with a strong impact, such as publication in high quality, internationally recognized, indexed journals and scholarly presses. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with successful candidate’s experience and accomplishments.


Appointment Terms

Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave and social insurance. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement.
