Description:
This field covers the development of knowledge, principles, methods, and tools to analyse and govern complex socio-technical systems and their long-term development, with emphasis on sustainable transport systems.

Research integrates model-based development and analysis, full life cycle characterization, qualitative and quantitative methods, and diverse perspectives on sustainability challenges. A key aspect is understanding how actors’ perspectives, roles, and capabilities shape system changes, as well as how external factors drive development. Collaboration with industry and societal stakeholders is a hallmark of this field.


Duties

  • Conduct independent research, initiate new directions, prepare grant applications, establish research collaborations, and supervise students.

  • Build, lead, and develop the research area of complex socio-technical systems at KTH.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary projects and collaborate with stakeholders, other departments, schools, industry, and public sector.

  • Contribute to and develop education at all cycles, including course responsibility and development.

  • Acquire ability to teach in Swedish within five years; a language development plan may be provided if needed.


Eligibility

Candidates must demonstrate scientific and pedagogical expertise in the field.

  • Scientific expertise in the subject field

  • Documented experience cooperating with external stakeholders for mutual exchange and societal benefit

  • Pedagogical expertise in the subject field

  • Expertise in leading activities and staff, with knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, particularly gender equality

Of second highest importance:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively

  • Administrative expertise
