The Department of Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Université Laval is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in materials and metallurgical engineering with a specialization in biomaterials.
The Department includes 16 faculty members
Supervises approx. 300 undergraduate and 100 graduate students
Offers B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs in:
Mining and mineral processing engineering
Materials and metallurgical engineering
The ideal candidate will:
Have a strong research background in materials and metallurgical engineering, specializing in biomaterials
Possess relevant teaching experience
Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels
Develop an innovative and well-funded research program in biomaterials that complements the department’s strengths
The successful candidate must:
Hold a bachelor's and a doctoral degree in materials engineering or a related field
Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (P.Eng.), or commit to becoming a member within 2 years of starting
Be able to teach in French or commit to becoming proficient within 3 years
Candidates will be evaluated based on:
Quality of academic training
Research, tech transfer, and scientific leadership experience
Teaching experience and potential
Achievements in biomaterials engineering
Fit with the position and departmental needs
Integration and synergy potential with current faculty
Academic rank will be determined by experience
Salary set per the collective agreement in effect at the time of hiring
