The Intelligent Heart Technology Lab at KTH is seeking a Doctoral student to research Soft Robotic Medical Devices for Vascular Applications.
This project focuses on designing interfaces between active soft devices and dynamic vasculature. The research combines:
Soft robotics
Biomechanics
Vascular biology
Device manufacturing
The doctoral student will also validate devices in translational preclinical models and collaborate closely with Karolinska Institute and Hospital (Vascular Surgery) for interdisciplinary insights.
Preferred Background: Biomedical, mechanical, or robotics engineering; interests in biomechanics, micro/nano systems, and physiology.

Completed a second-cycle degree (Master’s) or equivalent (240 higher education credits, including 60 second-cycle credits)

Doctoral Degree (PhD)
Employment requires admission to postgraduate education
Maximum employment corresponds to four years of full-time doctoral study
Up to 20% of time may be dedicated to teaching or administrative tasks
Contracts are renewed annually, up to two years at a time
