Postdocs Position in Electrical Engineering

Royal Institute of Technology

Sweden

Job description

KTH is seeking up to three postdoctoral researchers to join TECoSA (The Vinnova Center for Trustworthy Edge Computing Systems and Applications), a long-term research center based at KTH in Stockholm, currently operating with 14 industrial partners.

The position entails:

  • Research in one of the following prioritized tracks and close collaboration with the other two tracks:

    1. Trustworthiness Assurance – Focus on certification for cyber-physical systems interacting with smart digital infrastructure, such as robotics, transportation, and telecom. Research areas include trustworthiness metrics, system architectures, assurance frameworks, efficient verification and validation, explainability of AI, and managing residual risk.

    2. Edge AI – Investigate the integration of AI and edge computing, particularly in network optimization, distributed decision-making, and large-scale foundation models. Candidates interested in theoretical analysis and optimization of Edge AI to develop robust and secure ecosystems are encouraged to apply.

    3. Industrial Edge Applications – Explore future networked robotics, human-in-the-loop systems, and connected transportation. Work with TECoSA’s 5G edge computing testbeds to expand capabilities toward 6G, O-RAN, and AI-RAN, collaborating on application experimentation.

  • Collaboration with TECoSA researchers and industrial partners.

  • Work on the TECoSA indoor or outdoor testbed.

Postdocs are encouraged, but not required, to supervise master students, especially in collaboration with industry.
