Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Position in
Systems Engineering
The Department of Computer Engineering and Sciences at Florida Tech is seeking applications for teaching-focused faculty in Systems Engineering, beginning as early as August 2023. The position will be non-tenure track, and carry the title of instructor, lecturer, or teaching-track. Required qualifications include an earned Ph.D. in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or closely related field, and a sincere interest in quality teaching, predominantly at the graduate level. Applicants from all areas of systems engineering are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to candidates specializing in Model-Based Systems.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of the Systems Engineering program, as well as collaborate with other departments across the College. Main responsibilities include developing and teaching graduate courses in systems engineering, advising graduate students, and participating in departmental, college, and university level service activities.
Florida Tech is located in Melbourne on Florida’s Space Coast, one of the nation’s fastest growing high-tech areas. A number of major corporations have a local presence, including L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, General Electric, Lockheed Martin, Leonardo DRS, and Raytheon. The campus is 5 minutes from the Indian River estuary, only 10 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and 50 minutes from both Kennedy Space Center and Orlando. The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
