PDC is expanding its group of system administrators. We are looking for a new system manager to become an integral part of our System Operations team currently consisting of ten people, running PDC's computational and storage infrastructure.

The work includes:
Administration of the HPC and storage infrastructures and services
Development of these services based on user needs and technological advances
Close interaction with the PDC application experts, users and suppliers of computing systems and software
PDC operates state-of-the-art computational and storage resources for a variety of scientific application domains, including mechanics, computational chemistry, life sciences and physics. The center currently operates the most powerful academic computer in Sweden, an HPE Cray EX with 1282 CPU nodes and 70 GPU nodes with just over 500 GPUs in total.

You will have good opportunities to attend courses and conferences.
An academic degree in computer/computing science or in an area that uses HPC calculations or equivalent experience/skills.
Extensive experience using, deploying, and administrating large Linux-based systems and services, as well as experience operating large HPC systems, preferably in an academic/research environment.
Excellent knowledge of Linux, standard programming and scripting languages.
A good command of English. Swedish is not required as PDC is an international environment and the work language is English.
Ability to work well independently as well as function effectively in a team.
Cluster management systems (e.g. HPCM, Xcat).
Management of physical server infrastructure (e.g. IPMI, Redfish).
HPC-specific APIs and technologies (e.g. Slurm, MPI, OpenMP, CUDA).
Virtualisation (e.g. KVM, Libvirt).
Container tools (e.g. Docker, Singularity/Apptainer, Podman, LXC).
Cloud application and infrastructure platforms (e.g. OpenStack, OpenShift, Proxmox, Kubernetes).
Storage systems and technologies (e.g. Lustre, TSM, Ceph, S3).
Networking (High speed interconnects, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN).
Open OnDemand, ThinLinc.
Computer hall infrastructure.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
