Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader in Physics of Materials and Devices

The University of Bristol’s School of Physics seeks an outstanding candidate for a permanent academic appointment in the field of the Physics of materials and devices. Existing activity in this area is focused around semiconductor electronic materials and devices, and nuclear related materials.

 

Work on semiconductor electronic materials and devices is based in the Centre for Device Thermography and Reliability. Of current interest is device design, electrical device characterization and/or device fabrication in wide bandgap semiconductor materials including Gallium Nitride, Gallium Oxide and others.

 

The appointee will establish an internationally leading independent research programme which complements either or both of these areas. They will demonstrate a strong commitment to securing grant funding. Additionally, they will deliver excellence in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and undertake administrative duties as appropriate for the role.

 

An appointment may be made at the Lectureship/Senior Lectureship/Reader level, depending on the experience and calibre of the candidate.
