Duties and responsibilities
  • Teaching in the field of Computer Science (e.g. object-oriented programming, algorithms and data structures, web technologies, C/C++, etc.) on all levels of higher education.
  • Supervising research work of students.
  • Research in the field of Computer Science (e.g. programming languages, algorithms, learning analytics, etc.).
  • Participation in the work of the university’s decision-making bodies is recommended.
  • Popularisation of the specialization.
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.
 
Required experience
  • Candidates are expected to have teaching experience on the Bachelor’s and/or Master's levels.
  • Research experience and publications in the area of specialization are essential.
  • A track record of publications in highly reputable venues in the area of specialization or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience in supervising students and conducting e-learning is also highly desirable.
Required language skills
Excellent command of English required. Estonian is an advantage. According to the Language Act, academic staff with foreign citizenship working in Estonia must have acquired at least B1-level Estonian language skills after five years of work. The Centre for Professional Development offers foreigners and their family members the opportunity to participate in Estonian language courses.

Salary
From 2500 to 3000 euros (gross) per month, depending on qualifications and work experience. This amount is subject to taxation at a 20% flat tax rate. The total annual payroll is 40 000 - 50 000 euros, which includes employer taxes.

A candidate can be required to submit the original or a certified copy of the document (including its annexes) showing the candidate to hold the required qualification. If the candidate has acquired the higher education in question abroad, he or she may be required to submit an assessment issued by the Academic Recognition Information Centre (the Estonian ENIC/NARIC) of his or her qualification in respect of the qualification requirements for the position;
  5. a research and teaching vision;
  6. other materials considered relevant by the candidate (a list of such materials must be included in the application or annexed to it).
