Your Area of Responsibility Includes: 

  • Teaching (in German and English) in the bachelor program aviation and in the master of science in engineering and supervision of bachelor and master theses
  • Establishment of the specialist field CNS / ATM Aviation Infrastructure at the Center for Aviation
  • Establishment and management of a team and implementation of application-oriented research and service projects as well as independent acquisition of third-party funds
  • Acquisition of courses in the further education program of the ZHAW School of Engineering
  • Maintaining the international network and writing publications

For these demanding and exciting tasks in the field of Communication, Navigation, Surveillance (CNS) in Air Traffic Management (ATM), you have a Master's degree in Engineering or Science with PhD. In addition, over several years you have gained industry and industry experience with above-average performance in the Air Navigation Service area. They are familiar with the topics of performance-based communication, navigation, surveillance as well as the corresponding enabling infrastructure and engineering standards. They are familiar with the new developments of Single European Sky and Unmanned Traffic Management and can acquire research projects for this purpose. The job is at the interface of industry, authority, Business and university positions and requires joy in an interdisciplinary and customer-oriented way of working. Furthermore, we expect you to bring a high degree of independence and commitment and are happy to work in project teams. In addition, you communicate safely in German as well as in English.Didactic experience makes it easier for you to get started in teaching.
