Position Summary Situated in beautiful Wascana Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America, the University of Regina is a comprehensive institution, emphasizing excellence in teaching and research, as well as public service. Experiential

learning and cross disciplinary teaching are strongly supported.

 

The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science presently offers five-full programs in Electronic, Environmental, Industrial, Petroleum and Software Systems Engineering that are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. We also offer M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. programs and other interdisciplinary graduate programs.

The faculty offers unique Cooperative

Education and Internship programs and has approximately 1400 undergraduate students and almost 250 graduate students (of which about 70 graduate students are in Ph.D. programs). The Faculty has a strong commitment to providing an excellent "systems approach" to engineering education for our students. Each program has a unique implementation of the systems theme, founded on the common underlying goal of producing engineering graduates with a strong base of technical knowledge and with the breadth of complementary skills that successful professional engineers 
should have in the workplace.

 

The faculty enjoys close collaborative relationships with industry and government research laboratories. These include the 
Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC), and the Saskatchewan Research Council, both of which are located in

Software Systems Engineering is designed to develop engineers skilled in the professional construction and engineering of software systems and their life cycles. Examples of such systems include World Wide Web transactional systems, management information systems, interactive multimedia systems, game software systems, mobile computing, decision support, artificial intelligence, web portals, network technologies, cloud computing, and security systems.

Requirements Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position in the Lab Instructor category. A strong commitment to teaching and development of lab courses as well as faculty and university service is required with a preference for individuals with industrial and/or previous teaching experience. The successful candidate must have the ability and enthusiasm to conduct undergraduate lab courses in one or more of the areas of specialization as well as in core Software Engineering concepts. The candidate will be expected to become knowledgeable in at least one additional specialization area over the course of 
their employment. The ability to work in a team environment within the Software Systems Engineering program is a valued characteristic of the successful candidate.

 

Applicants should have a minimum of a B.A.Sc. or equivalent in Software Engineering or a closely related field. The candidate should also have the appropriate credentials for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan.
