UNSW Planning & Performance (UPP) provides management reports, business intelligence, analysis and strategic advice to multiple stakeholders across the University. Planning & Performance is a key resource for the senior management of the University, providing data, management information and analysis of performance reporting.

About the role

The Junior Data Analyst plays a key role in the operations of UPP. They may be asked to work several operational projects under the guidance and supervision of the Managers and Project Leaders. The Matrix Management system will enable the DE to build a broad picture of the role of the UPP and add to and enhance their skills and knowledge.

This position reports to the Manager (Reporting) and has no direct reports.

About the successful applicant

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Excellent computing skills including spread sheets, data bases, SQL and a demonstrated ability to learn new systems and ways of working.
  • An understanding of Data and Information Governance, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Data Quality concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and apply analytical skills.
  • Capacity to work in small cross disciplinary teams and independently.
  • Ability to deal with multiple deadlines and changing requirements.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
