Position Description

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark (SASN), Rutgers University-Newark, is seeking part-time instructors (Lecturer/Coadjutant) for the Spring 2026 semester to teach computer science courses.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing course materials and creating/posting a syllabus

  • Presenting material during assigned course times

  • Holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class support

  • Responding to student emails promptly

  • Conducting and grading assessments (assignments, exams, projects)

  • Submitting final grades

Course appointments may require instruction during: day, evening, weekends, off-campus, online, hybrid, or any combination.


Position Details

  • Position Status: Part-Time

  • Salary: Minimum $2,777 per credit. Final salary determined by qualifications, experience, and departmental funding.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience teaching Computer Science or related field preferred
