As of October 1, 2022, the position of a university professor (full professor) in the form of a permanent employment contract under private law at the Montanuniversität Leoben according to the Salaried Employees Act is to be filled at the Chair of Physical Chemistry.

At the Montanuniversität Leoben, researchers and students work on solutions for the world of tomorrow in the areas of “smart materials”, “advanced resources” and “sustainable processes”: Where research becomes the future!

The applicant should be a person of international scientific standing who represents the subject of electrochemical energy conversion in research and teaching.

The candidate's research focus should be in the field of Electrochemical Energy Conversion with reference to physical chemistry. Experience in the areas of development, manufacture and comprehensive characterization of functional materials for electrochemical energy conversion for applications in the field of future energy technologies is advantageous.

In teaching, lectures on physical chemistry are to be held in the English and German bachelor's and master's degree programs. Moreover, courses have to be offered from the subject to be filled. Supervision of bachelor and master theses, as well as dissertations is expected.

Employment requirements are a domestic or equivalent foreign university degree, a relevant doctorate, as well as a habilitation, which includes the subject to be filled with reference to physical chemistry, or an equivalent scientific qualification. Further prerequisites are pedagogical and didactic aptitude including the application of new media in teaching as well as the qualification as a manager.

Experience in the acquisition and implementation of funded research projects on a national and international level with scientific and industrial cooperation partners is of great importance. Applications for funded research projects are expected.

The classification and remuneration are based on the collective agreement of the universities in the application group A1. In this classification, the collective agreement monthly wage for full-time employment is € 5321,70 gross (14 x annually). With the appropriate qualification, a higher remuneration is subject to the appointment negotiations.
