Provide support to the principal investigator in the Grid Integration Technology group within the Transportation and Power Systems Division to assist in developing and administering experimental evaluations and conducting analysis of network systems related to EV charging applications.
Efforts will involve understanding EV charging networks and communication protocols that facilitate EV charging solutions related to access control, payments, and services.
Some performance activities include maintaining research software and hardware systems, ensuring uptime and security, and troubleshooting downtime events promptly.
Position Requirements
Skills in researching and understanding the most recent reports regarding potential risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.
Organizational skills in data gathering and reconnaissance efforts:
lookup of publicly available information and internet presence of an entity under evaluation.
Skills in using various software tools (nmap, gobuster, BurpSuite) used in security evaluation – this includes proper interpretation of scan results.
Skills in designing and conducting penetration testing and vulnerability assessments in networked devices and network systems. Skills in installation and setup of network hardware such as routers, network switches, and servers.
Skilled in oral and written communications including dissemination of evaluation results and development of best practice recommendations. Ability to work in a team environment.
