The Department of Chemical Engineering at McMaster University is seeking outstanding
candidates to fill a 3 year contractually limited appointment. The successful candidate will
be expected to spend approximately 80% of their time teaching courses distributed
between Engineering 1 and the Department of Chemical Engineering. The remaining time
will be spent engaging in committee assignments and participating in events and other
service tasks within the Department, but also related to both student recruitment and
outreach. In addition, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to engage in
pedagogical research. The preferred start date for the appointment is January 1, 2019.

The successful candidate must have a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering and must possess
excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability in classroom, including teaching in
large classes. The candidate should be able to teach both core courses and technical elective
courses offered by the Department of Chemical Engineering, as well as the courses offered
in Engineering 1. Professional engineering license, or eligibility for registration, is crucial.
Evidence of leadership skills, excellence in service, and a demonstrated ability to work
effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures is also required.
