Subject/subject description

Computer and Systems Sciences with a focus on digital information systems. Many organizations develop, produce and distribute services and products in complex business environments including several cooperating organizations, often referred to as digital business ecosystems or digital value networks.

In order to support organizations within such ecosystems to become efficient, flexible, innovative, and resilient, information systems design is decisive.

Model-based approaches have proven to be useful for analysis of digital ecosystem and design of supporting information systems.

Main responsibilities

The applicant of the lecturer position shall conduct teaching, course development and have course responsibilities within education at the undergraduate, master and research level in the field. Examples of content in the courses are information systems, enterprise and conceptual modelling, database methodology, and model-driven development of services and information system.

The applicant of the lecturer position is expected to strengthen the scientific content and practical relevance of the courses. The same applies to the bachelor's and master's theses that he/she will supervise.

The employment includes own competence and research time, which is stipulated by the local agreement for teachers.

The applicant of the lecturer position will be involved in the development of the department's collaboration with the business community and other research institutions in the field.

Qualification requirements

Eligible applicants for the position of senior lecturer should hold a PhD in Computer and Systems Sciences, or have equivalent research skills and have demonstrated teaching expertise.

Teaching proficiency should normally have been demonstrated through teaching experience at both the undergraduate- and master’s levels. Teaching proficiency should be well documented and in a manner that makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities.

The applicant must have the ability to cooperate with colleagues as well as other abilities that are required in order successfully to meet the demands of the position.

Assessment criteria

Special and equal emphasis will be placed on teaching and research skills in information systems with the focus on development and use of information systems that support organizations collaborating in large digital business ecosystems or digital value network.

Special and equal emphasis will be placed on teaching and research skills in model-driven development based on enterprise and system models, including process and conceptual models.  

Strong emphasis will be placed on having successfully planned, applied for and obtained research project funds from external research funding bodies.

Strong emphasis will be placed on practical experience in the development of information systems, including programming of applications and design of databases.

Strong emphasis will be placed on teaching skills in conceptual modelling and database design.

Strong emphasis will be placed on a documented ability to cooperate well with colleagues and fellow researchers.

Emphasis will be placed on administrative skills and proven collaboration with the surrounding society and dissemination of research and development findings.

Emphasis will be placed on to the applicant's degree of interest and ability for subject renewal work, and background in relation to the existing research at the department.

It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.

An applicant who does not have at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education, and is not deemed to have acquired equivalent knowledge, must complete such training within the first two years of employment.

Proficiency in Swedish is not a requirement for the position, but the applicant has to be ready to take on administrative and pedagogical tasks that demand an understanding and usage of Swedish after two years of employment.

In the event of a discrepancy between the Swedish original vacancy and the English translation, the Swedish version takes precedence.
