Position Summary:
The University of Southern California (USC) invites applications for tenure-track or tenured faculty in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE). Appointments may be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Exceptional senior candidates may be considered for chaired professorships. Candidates should demonstrate research excellence and a commitment to advancing the field, with a strong potential for externally funded research.

Areas of Interest:

• Core ISE methodologies: optimization, probability, simulation, statistics, systems lifecycle analysis, computational science

• Societal applications: supply chain, transportation and logistics, healthcare, finance

• Emerging areas: data science, machine learning, AI, and related areas

Special Opportunities:

• Alignment with USC’s $1B Frontiers of Computing initiative, including affiliation with the new USC School of Advanced Computing

• Priority for candidates working at the intersection of computing and:

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field

• Demonstrated research excellence and potential for establishing a nationally recognized research program

• Commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentorship

• Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration

Salary Range:

• Assistant Professor: $120,000–$140,000

• Associate Professor: $145,000–$170,000

• Full Professor: $180,000–$250,000
