The School of Applied and Creative Computing at Purdue University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position in Creative Computing and AI at the West Lafayette, Indiana campus starting in August 2026. We seek researchers and educators whose work integrates AI with digital artifacts and interactive experiences. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: AI in the context of co-creative systems, human-computer interaction, generative and multimodal media, visualization, gaming, and embodied and immersive experiences.
Situated within Purdue University, a pioneering land-grant institution, the School of Applied and Creative Computing is a new school forged from the strategic merger of two long-standing computing departments, Computer Graphics and Computer Information Technology, and is one of three keystones of the Purdue Computes initiative.
Fueled by high student demand, it is the largest school within the Purdue Polytechnic, one of ten colleges at Purdue. We are a research-intensive school dedicated to applied research shaped by close collaboration with industry, and we prepare students at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels to excel in the future of computing.

The successful candidate will:
Pursue high-impact research programs and external funding to support cutting-edge technology development.
Mentor graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) and undergraduate students in research.
Conduct high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Actively participate in service to the school, university, and the discipline.
Engage with industry, the community, and colleagues across the computing discipline.

Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. or expect to complete their Ph.D. by August 2026 in computing or closely related fields.
