Description

The Division of Science and Engineering at Penn State University Abington College is seeking a non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Information Sciences and Technology to start in August of 2020. This is a nine-month appointment with excellent fringe benefits that include retirement plans, health, dental, vision, and prescription drug insurance, reduced tuition rates for dependents, and optional long-term disability insurance. The review process will begin February 24th and continue until the positions are filled. Minimum qualification are: a Ph.D. earned by February 2020 or an MS degree plus at least five years of experience teaching at the college level; and experience teaching in three or more of the following subjects: organizational strategies and enterprise architecture, business processes and technology decisions, organizational design, information processing and information flow, cyber analytics, cyber defense, cyber forensics, security risk analysis, databases, networking, programming, web management, and project management; and industry experience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 12 contact hours per semester to an exclusively undergraduate body of IST students from diverse ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds; act as academic advisor to Information Science Technology majors; and provide service to the Division and College.Applicants should submit : a cover letter; a curriculum vitae, including the names and contact information of at least three references; a list of courses taught at the university level; and a statement of teaching philosophy.
