Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME), University of Chicago
The Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME) at the University of Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor-level faculty position in computational soft materials engineering.
We seek candidates pursuing research in polymeric and soft matter systems, with an emphasis on computational, machine learning, and AI techniques to understand and engineer molecular and materials systems. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
Coarse-grained molecular modeling of polymeric systems
Mesoscale and multi-scale modeling
Data-driven and AI-enabled materials screening and engineering
Research with strong potential for collaboration with existing experimental and computational groups
The successful candidate will complement PME’s strengths in soft materials engineering and contribute broadly to the University of Chicago community. Responsibilities include leading a research program, publishing impactful work, and teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
This position is benefits eligible. More information is available in the University of Chicago Benefits Guide.
PME is an interdisciplinary school established in 2011 to translate molecular and quantum science into technological solutions with societal impact in:
Health and immunology
Energy, water, and materials
Environmental sustainability
