Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus invites applications for a faculty position, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, (Tenure-Track, 36 weeks) to begin August 2020, or as negotiated. Responsibilities: Teach three courses (9 credits) each semester of lower- and upper-division courses in electrical (or mechanical) engineering, which typically includes separate classes in: embedded processors and digital signal processing, measurement theory and instrumentation, computerized input/output systems, electrical power systems and industrial electrical control circuits; most courses will include a lab component. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Publish in refereed journals. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, University, and community service activities. Qualifications: Ph.D. in electrical engineering, or a closely related field is required. Prior teaching, research, and professional experience required. ABD candidates will be considered if there is a clear completion date before August 1, 2020. Experience/expertise in mechanical and/or industrial engineering is favorable, as is relevant industrial experience and/or PE license. Prior college-level and online teaching experience is favorable. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected, as is an interest in active and collaborative learning that integrates innovative uses of technology. Experience with hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Evidence of potential in research and publication is expected. An ability to engage professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students across the University is required.
