IES has for a long time conducted high-quality research and teaching activites within integrated circuits (ICs) and systems. The research activities include - but are not restricted to - wireless communication, signal sensing, energy-efficient computing systems, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML), which has resulted in many collaborations with industry and other research institutes. Most of our research projects are industry-oriented and applied, and our graduate students are a sought after resource in the academic as well as industrial sectors.
The employment subject area is connected to the strategic research area within IT and mobile communication, ELLIIT (elliit.se). ELLIIT in Lund is a part of the profile area Pillars of AI and Digitalisation and the position is in line with the overall research strategy at LTH. The department hosts three competence Centers related to circuit design and wireless systems: ClassIC, Nextg2Com, ACT, providing a dynamic and collaborative research environment.
Computing systems and ICs are the backbone for the sustainable digitalisation of industry and society. Future wireless systems and AI/ML applications place stregent requirements in terms of performance, energy-efficiency, flexibility, and scalability. Energy- and performance-optimized digital circuits and systems are indispensable to meet the high demands from the system level. Therefore, EIT intends to hire an assistant professor specialized in digital IC and systems design for, but not limited to, the aforementioned applications.
