The Department of Computing Science (http://www.tru.ca/science/programs/compsci.html) is seeking to hire a highly qualified individual for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2024.
Duties:
The Department of Computing Science is introducing a new two-year diploma program focused on Computer Networks and Cybersecurity. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to teach a diverse range of courses related to computer networks and network security, as well as supervise student research and projects. Candidates should also have the potential to develop and provide new courses in the program, as well as demonstrate evidence of potential for an independent research program and excellence in scholarship.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate for this position should have a Ph.D. or be close to the completion of a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- Should be capable of teaching undergraduate students.
- Possession of industry-leading certifications related to Network Security and Cybersecurity is an asset.
- Prior teaching experience in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity is required, with the potential for excellence in teaching.
- The applicant should also demonstrate the potential for an independent research program and excellence in scholarship.
- Fluency in English (both spoken and written) is a requirement.
