Description

The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning in Fall 2026.

Qualified candidates must possess a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering field, with an outstanding record of research accomplishments as evidenced by high-impact scholarly publications and strong potential to attract external research funding.

We are seeking an individual with professional ethics, strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues both within and outside the department.

A successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Develop an independent, externally funded research program

  • Demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels

  • Contribute to curriculum development

  • Provide quality service to the department, the university, and the chemical engineering profession

While applications in all areas of chemical engineering will be considered, candidates with expertise in computational chemical engineering—particularly in multi-scale modeling, molecular simulation, process optimization, data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning—are strongly encouraged to apply.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment.

All international degrees must include a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to Human Resources directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
