Pay Basis Monthly

Pay Plan Academic Year

Position Description Teach undergraduate classes spanning a range of topics. Candidates should have expertise in at least two of the following areas:

1) Project Planning
-Decision economics
-Multidisciplinary project management

2) Ag. Structures Planning
-Construction materials, wood, steel concrete
-Site layout/preparation
-Heat Transfer/insulation/ventilation

3) Machinery Management
-Tractor & Power unit field setup and operation
-Power and performance evaluation
-Safety training based on current OSHA and other regulatory standards
-Production agriculture farming practices
-Precision Agriculture applications
-Economic analysis

4) Water Process Engineering
-Food safety
-Food processing plant systems
-Water recycle system design analysis
-Organic and non-organic disinfection system design

5) Ag Mechanics
-Tool use
-Shop & procedures
-Vocational Ag teaching
-Shop Safety protocol

6) Electronics/controls for Agricultural Applications
-Basic circuit analysis
-Programmable Logic controllers/ladder logic
-Computer interfacing
-Data acquisition/control


Duties may also include, but are not limited to, supervision of design project students and teams, supervision of undergraduate senior projects, graduate student research, advising undergraduate and graduate students, teach graduate level courses in a Master of Professional Studies or certificate program, and participate in University, College and Departmental activities. Additional teaching responsibilities in lower division general engineering and support courses may be required. Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interests in undergraduate and graduate teaching are required.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only)

Required Qualifications / Specialized Skills

M.S. in related Engineering or Management field is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.


Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to diversity.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

Ph.D. in a related Engineering or Management fields would be beneficial. Registration as a professional engineer is preferred. Practical experience and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and professional contribution are greatly valued.
